For the first time in the Mortal Kombat franchise the game got a rated T for teen and for a reason the DC Universe has join the MK world. When the game was first announced alot of hardcore MK fans were angry and I was one of them but I have to give credit to Midway games for doing a great job with this game. Now this game not bad but it’s not good either. But the good news is for the first time we get to see MK vs. a different world. There are five modes you get to play Arcade, Story Mode, Kombo Challenge, Pratice and of course we can’t have a fighting game without online play. In Arcade mode most MK fans should know what it is you get to choose any fighter you want and then you enter a ladder where you fight and try to make it the top of the ladder at first it easy but the more you move up the ladder the harder it gets. And then there Story Mode there not only one story but two you get to choose to play on the MK side of the story or the DC side of the story the plot does stays the same the story is about some kind of rage that happens if both MK and DC world which the rage is some kind of evil thing that makes people mad and fight each other. In Kombo Challenge you get to choose any fighter and get to learn their moves this is where you should go first when you get the game because it will help learn the fighter’s special moves. There is practice mode but there not much to do.

There are over 20 fighters in the game which is kind of disappointed and some of the old MK games they had over 60 fighters and if you’re a DC fan you know there alot of super hero and villains in the DC Universe. The good news is that Ed Boom did say he would like to have DLC in the near future so let’s hope we can get it. The roster for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is

So if you don’t see your favorite MK or DC fighter there still some hope for DLC. There also new fighting mechanics you can now fight in mid air when you’re falling in freefall combat which is in some areas while you’re in midair you get to fight which is cool. There also Test Your Might were all you have to do is press all the bottons as fast as you can. There also Rage mode which is a great way to change the fight if your losing the fight your attack is more powerful and your opponent can block but won’t work it doesn’t last long so you need to use it in the perfect time. And there also Close Kombat which you get to punch the player and the camera zooms in and the punches does more damage. One thing people where worry about in this game is that its rated T for teen so you’re not going to see any gore what’s so ever but at least there blood. The fatalities are not going to be as good as the old MK games so don’t get your hopes upland the best part of this games is the online play and can be one of the most fun games to play online and also one of the most annoying games to play online why? You may ask? It’s because there are alot of spammers for example some one chose’s superman and all he does is his special moves over and over and over again which gets really annoying so watch out for superman, the flash, and other spammers at there. But don’t get me wrong online can be fun when you play someone who fights fair and clean. In online there are Ranked and Player matches and also you can join a room which is my favorite feature in this game there’s rooms like for new fighter only for master fighter and even achievements room for those achievements junkies out there. You can create your own room or join a room. And speaking of achievements some of the achievements are great to earn. There’s online achievements from getting a Flawless Victory Online to winning your first chat room fight. Also in story mode if you finish both side of the story by the end of the day you will have together 210 gamerscore points. The bottom line is if you’re a MK fan or a DC fan this game is a MUST BUY or at least worth a rental but remember its a ranted T game so you will not see that much Violence like in the old MK games also once your finish story mode and arcade there not much to do and watch out for online spammers. But overall this game gets a 8 out of 10.See you online!
