UNCHARTED 2: AMONG THEIVES REVIEW![]() Posted by London on Oct 31, 2009 22:39 (130 days ago) |

Uncharted 2 was simply, in one word, amazing. Everything about this game was very fun, full of action, with some puzzles thrown in. This game was like a movie. The story was presented so perfectly. I loved every second of this attention-grabbing campaign. Naughty Dog really overdid their selves with this game.
Ok, first I'm going to talk about the graphics, because they were in my opinion one of, if not the best things about the game. One word, Amazing. I would've added a word before amazing but, children might read this review. Your jaw will likely drop just as mine did more than once. PS3 having Blue-Ray so that games like Uncharted can use more memory for graphics was the best thing Sony could've done. I can't really even describe the graphics in words, you'll just have to buy the game and see them yourself.
The attention to detail in this game is unreal. At some points I couldn’t even believe it. You're clothes would get wet when you swim, your feet would freeze when you dip them in ice water, I could list a million more, there is just so much detail put into this game, so many small things, that the average player wouldn’t notice.
The game controls are easy to learn not once did I ever really have a problem, except when it told me to hit X, I hit Square, because I'm used to Xbox 360's controls. But most of you PS3 junkies won't have that problem, will you?
I mentioned puzzles earlier, ok, some games have puzzles that are unbelievably hard, but the puzzles in Uncharted 2 are about the right difficulty, in my opinion at least. The answer didn’t just jump out at me as soon as I looked at it, but I didn’t get frustrated whilst solving them. My persistent 11 and 13-year old brothers did them, so hopefully you should be able to, after some thinking.
The overall difficulty of the game is quite hard, I played through the campaign on normal, there were a few trouble spots for me, but nothing 10 or so tries or so wouldn’t solve. But now this game on the hardest difficulty, I don’t think I would ever accomplish that. Speaking of the difficulty, I'll talk about the length as well. I didn’t time myself but I'd say it took a good 10-12 hours to take this puppy down. It might have been even more than that, and I was on normal difficulty. So it's quite long.
With the love, betrayals, good-guy bad-guy conflicts, battles of epic proportions, gun-fights on moving trains, this game has everything any good movie has. This is one of those games where you realize it's 3 in the morning and you have school at 8, but you don’t stop playing. This game always keeps you on the edge of your seat, and it will leave you wanting more.
I like the feel of the multiplayer as well. The multiplayer of Uncharted 2 feels similar to Call of Duty 4, only in 3rd person (which is kind of funny, since Modern Warfare 2 will have 3rd person integration). I have been captivated by Uncharted 2's multiplayer since the beta. It is an experience that will keep you coming back for more.
Uncharted 2 was one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. Naughty Dog really raised the bar with it. Uncharted 2 wasn't perfect, but it was damn close. If you own a PS3, buy this game, you will not regret it.
