LOGITECH G500 GAMING MOUSE REVIEW![]() Posted by London on Nov 19, 2009 20:30 (115 days ago) |
If you were thinking of buying a new mouse to improve your PC gaming experience, Logitech might just have you covered. The G500 Gaming Mouse from Logitech is definitely the best mouse I have ever owned. This is a very sleek and precise mouse that could mean the difference between life or death in a match. And for $69.99, you won't get a better quality mouse.
The G500 has a lot of features that you won't find in every mouse. You have the Back & Forward buttons, which is fairly common for mice, but you have a programmable button to be used for anything you can think of, it has 3 different speed settings, two different scrolling settings, interchangeable weights, on-board memory storage and a very nice feel to it.
I'll talk about the scrolling wheel first. There are two different settings, smooth and very fast, and click-click scrolling, which is good for a variety of things as you can well imagine. To switch between each setting, just push the little button below the wheel. Pretty simple, right?
Next you have the programmable button. This, obviously, has thousands of uses, and can be a valuable tool for any gamer. Use this for macros or well, pretty much anything. You can easily program the button using the Logitech SetPoint Software.
One really cool feature on the G500 is the interchangeable weights. For me, I put the heaviest amount of weight possible, but for some of you guys, you may want to have a lighter mouse. Mostly this is just your preference, and it's definitely nice to have a choice.
We also have the speed changer right on the mouse. No longer will you have to go to the Control Panel to change your mouse speed! However this is very good, I have one complaint about the speed changer. This is not a problem, only something that could be improved. There are only three different speeds. Yeah, only three. However other than that, it's definitely a good feature that Logitech has definitely made a good choice by implementing it into the G500.
I read a few other reviews over the G500 on Logitech's website. I noticed they complained only about the rough grip on the sides of the mouse. Personally, I have had zero problems with this grip "getting worn down" and I like the feel to it. But of course, that's just me.
Along with the programmable button, you can also use the SetPoint Software to make profiles and save them directly to your mouse. So if you want to switch computers, the G500 makes it easy on you.
Overall, the G500 is an excellent mouse. However it is not perfect, you won't regret this buy if you love games and need a new mouse. I definitely recommend this mouse for any gamer. This will accompany all of your gaming needs, and for $69.99, who could resist?
