If you’re looking for a router you might have several different reasons in mind. For one, you might be looking for one thats performance is exceptional. Some may be looking for a router having cost, size or simply for how it looks in mind. Well I’m here to tell you a few things about the Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router by Linksys that might help you with your decision. The wireless-N not only performs well but instantly draws your attention with its sleek black modern alien like appearance. Appearance alone, as we all know at times can sell a product, but when considering an item such as a router one should consider performance above all. With this being said, Linksys from Cisco system has you covered with its technological products which continue to grow on a daily basis. Most families today have multiple devices throughout their home and getting these devices to work together and to run smoothly can be a task. Just keeping the cords straight is a job in itself so wouldn’t you like a product that can do all of these things at an affordable price? If so the Wireless-N is the perfect device, especially if you’re a gamer.
The wireless-N is actually like 4 devices in one. This router lets your entire network system work together at much faster speeds and at farther distances in a given space for optimal performance. The setup is exceptionally easy with its walk-through instructions. The requirements for installation is having a PC with Microsoft windows 2000 or XP, the new Vista, Internet 5.5 or Firefox 1.0 or higher along with a network adapter. The vista program isn’t listed on the box but it works well because that’s the systems I have and used.
The Wireless-N router provides 4X more range and 12X more speed than the wireless G and is compatible with 802.11b/g/n technology. The wireless-N is also an excellent internet sharing router with its 4-port Gigabit switch that has built in speed and range enhanced wireless access point. The wireless-N is also equipped with a network optimizer that is specific to whatever traffic it encounters by its Quality of Service (QOS) that helps it run smoothly. This feature automatically detects what traffic is time sensitive and what’s not along with specific settings for those who have or use a windows media center. For gamers the QOS optimizes online and local gaming smoothly and allows for clearer sounding VoIP with reduced or eliminated lag. MIMO technology is also enhanced with its 3 antennas providing radio signals allowing for extended range coverage while at the same time reducing or eliminating dead spots. The wireless-N also has an SPI Firewall with 128 bit data encryption which I feel is an excellent addition and necessity to keep your information safe. If you already have wireless G & B equipment doesn’t worry the wireless-N works well with both. The wireless-N comes with a set-up wizard and user guide CD along with a Quick install guide, network cable, and power adapter. If at any time you need any support during the initial set-up period or whether its several months down the road the Linksys provides 24/7 support by phone and email whichever you prefer.
The wireless-N is a great product that cost an average of 179.99. Of course there is always bigger and better on the market but the price is usually bigger to go along with it. So if your thinking of purchasing a new router then you need to ask yourself what you specifically need the device to provide and will probably discover that the wireless-N is all you need at that it also comes at a very reasonable price.
