Disney Interactive Studios announced today the release of the first downloadable mission for Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for Nintendo DS. The game, which is based on the popular snow-covered virtual world of Club Penguin, has experienced global success since it launched last holiday, shipping more than a million units worldwide.

 

Beginning today, players can download the new free mission, "The Puffle Pranksters," directly to their DS game via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The new mission focuses on spy puffles, a specially-trained, elite group of secret agents in the Club Penguin DS world. A strange mystery involving the colorful creatures has come to light and players must solve it.

 

Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for Nintendo DS brings new and familiar elements from the virtual world onto the popular platform for kids, and allows them to become members of the Elite Penguin Force, a select group of secret agents. The game contains mysteries, never-before-seen locations in the Club Penguin world and new mini-games.

 

The DS game also allows kids to connect to the virtual world by uploading coins earned in-game to their online accounts, and downloading newsletters and polls from the Web site. Since the launch of Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, more than 100,000 kids have connected their DS to Club Penguin online and more than 384 million coins have been uploaded from the DS to the online world.

 

Developed by 1st Playable Productions, Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force and the downloadable mission for Nintendo DS are available now and rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
